A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Wale Adedibu, is dead.
OsunDailyNG learnt that Adedibu died on Saturday after a brief illness, a few days after the demise of the APC women leader in Oyo North Senatorial district, Princess Adebowale Atoyebi.
According to Daily Post, the Senator representing Oyo South senatorial district, Sharafadeen Alli, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, described Adedibuโs death as a rude shock.
Alli said the deceased was a committed and dedicated party member who worked tirelessly for the growth of the party in the State.
He noted that Adedibuโs death was a reminder of the fragility of life and the need for everyone to cherish every moment.
The Senator also expressed condolences to the deceasedโs family, friends, political associates and the APC family on the tragic loss.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State chapter of (APC) has said there was never a time when the state Governor, Seyi Makinde,ย worked for the party.
OsunDailyNGย understands there were speculations that Makinde, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), canvassed votes for APC presidential candidate, Presidentย Bola Ahmed Tinubu,ย during the 2023 presidential election.
Recall that Makinde and former Governor of Rivers State,ย Nyesom Wike, and other PDP G-5 members refused to support their partyโs presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar,ย during the last election.
Notably, Oyo is one of the states cleared by Tinubu during the February 25th election.
Speaking, however, on Tuesday, APC chairman in Oyo State,ย Issac Omodewu,ย said the State belonged to APC and that Makinde never worked in favour of the party as speculated in some quarters.
