The Kaduna State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed having in its custody three suspected bandits and arms dealers arrested in a recent raid.

A statement made available to newsmen by the commandโ€™s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muhammed Jalige, revealed that deadly rifles and over 521 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the suspects during the raid.

Jalige explained that the suspects have acknowledged their involvement in criminal activities and are making confessional statements which are helping the police in their investigation.

According to DSP Jalige, the suspects and all exhibits have been taken into custody.

In the same vein, the command said its operatives arrested a gunrunner who was en route to Katsina State from Plateau with 280 rounds of 7.62 X 39mm calibre of live ammunition.

โ€œActing on a cogent intelligence had on the 5th October 2022 intercepted a gunrunner; one Musa Ibrahim โ€˜Mโ€™ of Yan Siminti village of Niger State, who was en route to Katsina State from Plateau with Two Hundred and Eighty (280) rounds of 7.62 X 39mm calibre of live ammunition,” Jalige noted.

He stressed that the information provided to the command would be used to effect the arrest of the suspect’s accomplices in order for them to face the full wrath of the law.

He further added that the Commissioner of Police, Yekini Ayoku, had directed an intensive investigation with the view to arresting and prosecuting the suppliers and the users of the incriminating items.

Three Nabbed In Ogun Over Attempt To Kidnap Former Employerย

The Police Force disclosed on Tuesday of having three men in detention for attempting to abduct their former boss in the Ijebu Ode region of Ogun state.

The suspects were named as Peter Nse, Chukwuma Nwobodo, and Michael Umanah in a statement released by the stateโ€™s police public relations officer on Tuesday.

OsunDaily News learnt that the suspects were detained in response to a complaint made by Ifenuga Olayinka, who claimed to have received a text message from a โ€œKiller Vagabond of Africaโ€ and lodged it at the Igbeba divisional headquarters.

According to the statement, the author of the message instructed the complainant to deposit N5 million into a bank account he sent to him or risk being kidnapped as soon as possible.

The Divisional Police Officer of the Igbeba division, Musiliu Doga, assigned his detectives to find out who was sending the message after hearing about it.

According to a police spokesman, thorough investigations enabled authorities to track down the suspects in Anambra State, where they were apprehended.
