Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Sunday assured the people of Plateau State that his administration will not fail them.

He also said his administration is determined to lead the state to a new realm.

Mutfwang spoke during an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service held to mark his victory at the Supreme Court, at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, the state capital.

He said, โ€œBy the grace of God, we will not fail you.

โ€œWe are determined to lead Plateau to a new realm; we will continue where our great leaders have stopped.

โ€œWe will ride on their shoulders and raise Plateau to a new level.

โ€œI know God will supply the means, but I can assure you the heart to do it is here with us.

โ€œAll we need is the enablement to do what God wants us to do.

โ€œBy the grace of God, continue to pray for us; we will work together.

โ€œAnd Iโ€™m sure that the prophesies that come, is that all of us โ€“ individually and collectively as a state โ€“ we would move from healing to wholeness and greater heights,โ€ the governor said.

He thanked the people of the state, as well as friends across the country and beyond, for their prayers and support.

Earlier in his remarks, Bishop Wale Oke, said the state has been healed since the passing of the Supreme Court judgement.

โ€œSince the judgment of the Supreme Court, Plateau is now healed; the battle is finished,โ€ he maintained.

Also speaking, a former governor of the state, Senator Jonah Jang, called on the people of the to unite and support the governor to succeed.

In his goodwill message, a former governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna, recalled with nostalgia, that he was the first governor to be sacked by a tribunal since 1999.

He said the tribunal sacked him in 2003, before he later regained his mandate at the upper court.

Earlier speaking, a former Military Administrator in the state, Major General Lawrence Onoja (rtd), said the verdict of the Supreme Court is a victory for democracy and the people of Plateau State.
