The Forum of Former Youth Leaders in Plateau State has called on state and federal governments to collaborate in ensuring the full implementation of the existing anti-land grabbing law in the state following the Christmas Eve attacks in some communities where scores of people lost their lives, properties, and means of livelihood.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the forum, Yakubu Itse, at a briefing for journalists in Jos, the state capital.
He said: โConsidering the confidence we have in the security agencies, we believe that they will embark on a full-scale investigation to arrest the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
โWe call on the Plateau government to synergise with the Federal Government to see to the implementation of the Plateau anti-land-grabbing law.
โThe new government at the federal, state and local government levels should call a spade a spade and ensure that those culprits are identified, arrested and given the appropriate punishment.
โThere should be a display of a high level of professionalism amongst our security agencies to produce the needed results in the series of attacks in Plateau State and Nigeria at large.
โWe call on the security agencies to investigate the earlier alleged call by the Fulanis to ensure that Nigeria becomes the world headquarters of the Fulanis. The outcome of this investigation should not end up in the archives like the previous ones.โ
