The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, is set to attend the partyโs mega rally for the upcoming Local Government Election in Edo State.
OsunDailyNG reports that the former Governor of Anambra State and other leaders of the party will arrive in Benin City, the state capital, today for the event.
The former President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and an LP chieftain, Olumide Apata, made this known in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Monday.
Apata also disclosed that the mega rally will take place at the Baptist Convention Ground, TV Road Off Siluko Road, Benin City, by 10 am.

Prominent opposition politicians, including Obi,ย Atiku Abubakarย of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), andย Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), are reportedly working on an alliance to wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
OsunDailyNG gathered the trio is looking at the possibility of an alliance which would enable them to present a formidable stand against the APC.
It is further understood that the extent of their agreement to work together is still in the early stages, is being planned in phases, and also dependent on the eventual outcome of the 2023 presidential election tribunal in which the victory ofย President Bola Tinubuย is being challenged.
