The presidential candidate of the Labour Party  (LP), Peter Obi, attended the requiem mass organised in honour of the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), late Vincent Ogbulafor.

In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Thursday, Obi disclosed that the event for the late politician took place at Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State.

The LP flagbearer added that he also joined the family of veteran journalist and former Senator Representing Ebonyi South, late Senator Anyim C. Ude, for his funeral service in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

Obi said he visited a Second Republic House of Representatives member, Chief Francis Nwadison, to celebrate his 91st birthday with him in Ugwuoba, Enugu State.

He wrote: “Yesterday, I joined the family of Sir Vincent Ogbulafor, the Former National Chairman and National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, for his requiem mass, officiated by the Catholic Bishop of Umuahia Diocese at Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State.

“Thereafter, I joined the family of a veteran journalist, Former Managing Director of Nigeria Television Authority and Former Senator Representing Ebonyi South, Late Senator Anyim C. Ude, for his funeral service in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, presided over by the Former Prelate of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence Nzie Nsi Eke.

“I condole with both the Ugbolafor and Ude families. May God grant eternal rest to the deceased and grant their families the fortitude to bear their irreplaceable losses.

“I also visited Chief Francis Nwadison, a Second Republic House of Representatives member, to celebrate his 91st birthday with him in Ugwuoba, Enugu State.

“I was glad to see Chief Nwadison’s age-long friend, His Eminence Francis Cardinal Arinze, who came to share in his joyous moments.

“I pray to God who sees his goodness to continue to protect and bless him.”
