The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State has expressed concern over the invasion of its secretariat in Lafia, allegedly carried out by supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Chairman of PDP in the state, Francis Orogu, raised the alarm while addressing journalists after the partyโs state executive council meeting held on Monday in Lafia.
Orogu urged security agencies to apprehend anyone found inciting trouble under the guise of supporting any particular political party in the state.
โRecently, some bad elements invaded our partyโs secretariat and claimed to be members of the PDP but we have never seen them during any of our party meetings.
โWe were informed that they came from Akwanga Local Government Area by bus while carrying sticks and other items. We do not know their intentions or what they plan to do. We feel that it is a signal that anybody can do anything and claim to be a PDP member.
โWe suspect that they could be members of the APC since we do not know their purpose for coming to our office.
โSo, we are calling on the security agencies to investigate the matter and arrest anyone who claims to be supporting a political party but going around with the mindset of fomenting trouble.โ
All efforts made at the time of filing this report, to speak with the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Douglas Otaru, proved abortive.
