The Osun State Government has launched road dualization activities in Ede and Osogbo.

The state government also revealed that the action was in pursuance of his infrastructure expansion agenda.

It also revealed that documentation processes were almost completed on the planned flyovers across the three senatorial districts of the state.

This was made known by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Bashir Idowu Bello while addressing journalists in Osogbot, the state capital, on Wednesday.

Bello stated that the roads totalling 11.17km are part of the multibillion-naira Osun Infrastructure Development Plan of the Governor Adeleke administration.

Bello also revealed that the project is expected to be completed within the next year.

He added that the dualization of Old Garage Roundabout to Okefia Roundabout to Lameco Roundabout in Osogbo has commenced alongside the dualization of Akoda Junction to Cottage Junction to Baptist High School Area, Ede.

The construction of flyovers at Ile Ife, Osogbo, and Ede is to commence in due course as soon as the ongoing documentation processes are completed.

He noted that earthwork has commenced at Osogbo and Ede, promising that the ministry is working according to the directive of the state governor.

โ€œThe contractors have mobilised to sites. We are glad our people have been reporting the commencement of work even before we make an official announcement.

โ€œIn the next few days, we will announce likely diversions and alternative traffic routes. All efforts will be made to make the construction process as people-friendly as possible,โ€ Bello assured.

He added: โ€œThe Ministry, in line with Mr Governorโ€™s directive, has complied with due process and procurement laws. I assure you that all hands are on deck to deliver the projects as scheduled.โ€

DAILY POST recalls that in November, Governor Ademola Adeleke announced a N100 billion infrastructural development plan.

Adeleke, while reeling out his plans, revealed that part of the project involved the construction of five flyovers, dualisation and rehabilitation of roads across the state and the renovation and equipping of hospitals and schools.
