The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has sworn in new members of the stateโ€™s statutory commissions.

A statement signed by the Spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, on Monday, said the governor was represented at the swearing-in by the Deputy Governor, Kola Adewusi.

The swearing-in followed the confirmation of the nominees as forwarded to the State Assembly by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The confirmation of the Statutory Commission was made on Monday during plenary at the state House of Assembly Osogbo.

The confirmation motion was moved by the Majority Leader of the House, Babajide Kofoworola and seconded by Jeremiah Awoyeye, representing Ife Central State Constituency.

The Speaker of the Parliament, Adewale Egbedun, in a remark, noted that this emergency session became imperative to avoid unnecessary vacuum in the State Statutory Commissions.

He affirmed that it is also necessary for the growth and development of the state.

โ€œTo enhance seamless operations in these Commissions, it is very important and urgent for the House to screen and possibly confirm the nominees forwarded by the Executive Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke to fill the vacancies created by the dissolutionโ€.

โ€œThe credentials of the nominees have earlier been screened by an ad hoc Committee constituted by the House of Assembly for that purposeโ€ he added.

Egbedun urged the executive governor, Ademola Adeleke to proceed with the swearing-in of the confirmed chairmen, members and secretaries.

Those confirmed and sworn in include chairmen and members of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission, Osun State Judicial Service Commission, Osun State Civil Service Commission, and Osun State House of Assembly Service Commission.

The appointees were tasked to commit themselves to duty and act always in compliance with due process and extant laws.

The list of the confirmed Chairmen, Secretaries and members of the State Statutory Commissions include; โ€œOsun State Independent Electoral Commission: Barrister Hasim Abioye, Adedapo Ayodeji, Barrister Niyi Abioye, Hon. Ayofe Folarin, Chief Rafiu Olalere and Barrister Wale Iyaniwura.

โ€œOsun State Judiciary Service Commission: Barrister Ishola Tewogbade, Barrister Adedunmade Onibokun, Mr. Gbadegesin Olajide and Mrs. Linda Bibilari.

โ€œOsun State Civil Service Commission: Mufutau Oluwadare, Agbofiseti Akano, Adekunle Taofeek, Olojede Akindele and Alhaji Fakorede Raifu.

โ€œOsun State House of Assembly Service Commission: Hon. Adekunle Oyekunle, Hon. Okun Obiremi, Hon. Adebusola Taiwo, Hon. Sulaiman Adio and Hon. Adeyinka Adetoyi.โ€
