Nigerian right-back Ola Aina, who is currently without a club, is on the verge of returning to the Premier League this summer.
The 26-year-old Nigeria international who started his football career at Chelsea academy was last contracted to Italian Serie A club Torino.
Ola Aina first join Torino on loan on August 14, 2018, from Chelsea before the Italian club decided to buy him permanently on July 1, 2019, for a transfer fee worth โฌ9.80 million.
Just like his days at Chelsea, Aina found it almost impossible to establish himself on the Italian side. Hence, the former England youth international had to go on loan to Fulham between 2020 to 2021.
When Ola Ainaโs contract with Torino expired on July 1, 2023, the club decided to release him since he was surplus to requirement. Hence, since then, he has remained without a club.
Fortunately for Ola Aina who has played 30 times for the Super Eagles of Nigeria since he made his international debut on October 7, 2017, he is about to join another Premier League club but this time around, on a permanent deal.
Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, tweeted on Friday, July 21, that Ola Aina and Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing a permanent contract that will keep him at the club until June 2026.
According to the transfer expert, Ainaโs potential contract with the Premier League club is two-year with an option for a year extension.
