Nigerian defender, Ola Aina has expressed his excitement over Nottingham Forestโs decision to sign him about a month after being club-less.
The former Chelsea defender described the plans of Forest manager Steve Cooper as an โexciting projectโ which drew him to the club.
Ola Aina recently left Torino after five years and more than 100 games with the Italian squad. About a month after, he joined Nottingham Forest on a free transfer.
Aina is Forestโs first new signing in this summer transfer window. He agreed to a deal that was initially for two years, with the possibility of a year extension.
The 26-year-old has spent time on loan at Fulham and Hull City and rose through the ranks at Chelsea. He is fully aware of what to anticipate at the City Ground both on and off the field.
In his first interview as the clubโs new signing, the Nigeria international said, โIโm very excited to be here and I canโt wait to get started.
โI wanted to be back on English soil again and Forest is a club which has an exciting project and team.
โThe manager as well, what he wants from the team is something which I want to buy into. Heโs told me itโs a family club, heโs told me we have a great bunch of players and heโs told me Iโll enjoy it here.
โItโs exciting to be back playing in the Premier League. Itโs the best league in the world and I always want to challenge myself.
โI know some of the boys well already, which is good for me, but Iโm excited to meet the rest of my teammates and get to know everyone. I saw Forest in action last season and the fans are as loud as can be throughout the whole game, which is something Iโm relishing and canโt wait to experience. I canโt wait for it.โ
