After nine months of his medical leave in the United Kingdom, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party during the last election in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, has returned to Nigeria.
The candidate returned to Nigeria through Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Afolabi Orekoya, media aide to Mr. Adebutu, confirmed to our correspondent that his principal is back in the country.
In a video circulating on social media, Mr. Adebutu was seen with his running mate, Adekunle Akinlad, and other leaders and loyalists of the PDP rejoicing at the airport.
It will be recalled that the All Progressives Congress had, on many occasions, accused Adebutu of evading the law over allegations of vote-buying during the March 18 governorship election in the state.
Tunde Oladunjoye, APC State Publicity Secretary, who was recently appointed as Senior Media Consultant to Governor Dapo Abiodun, made similar allegations against the PDP candidate barely 24 hours ago, urging him to return home to face the law.
However, the gubernatorial candidate, at different times, refuted the allegations through a video, stating that he did not abscond but had been in the UK for medical attention.
