The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has arrested three suspected cattle rustlers in Malam Madori Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
The Ag Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Command, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani, confirmed the arrest to newsmen in Dutse on Wednesday.
Yusuf Abdullahi (19), Muhammad Yahaya (21), and Ali Abubakar (22), all residents of Hadejia town, were caught red-handed after allegedly stealing two bulls from Bagumawa village within the same local government area.
According to Tijjani, the suspects were intercepted while attempting to load the stolen animals into a Volkswagen Golf car with registration number YAB 05 YR.
Tijani further revealed that the trio confessed to the crime and disclosed the involvement of another accomplice who is currently at large.
The spokesperson added that Danjuma Abdullahi, NSCDC commandant in the state, has ordered a discreet investigation into the matter. Once the investigation is concluded, the suspects will face charges in court.
Three mobile phones, two machetes, and an axe were recovered from the suspects.
