The organizers of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, have rescheduled the matchday two encounter involving Kano Pillars and Katsina United, DAILY POST reports.
The encounter was initially billed to take place on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
It will now hold on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the same venue.
The Chief Operating Officer of the NPFL, Davidson Owumi, said the rescheduling was due to commercial and broadcast purposes.
The encounter is billed to be one of the anticipated fixtures of the week due to the rivalry between both teams.
In the past the fixture has produced tension soaked encounters between both teams with the most recent culminating in the destruction of the Kastina United team bus by irate Kano Pillars supporters in 2022.
Both teams secured promotion to the NPFL after playing in the lower league last season.
