Attahiru Abdulrahman Osu, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa Local Government Area, has called for peaceful coexistence and unity in Nasarawa State.
Osu was reacting to a recent inciting comment made by one Adon Garin Lafia over the ruling of the tribunal, which ousted the state governor, Abdullahi Sule.
Adon Garin Lafia has vowed to make the state ungovernable over the outcome of the judgement.
Reacting, Osu said the state will resist anyone trying to cause unrest just because a court ruling did not favour them.
He said, โI felt compelled to respond to remarks made by an individual referred to as Adon Garin Lafia.
โThereโs something people need to understand, God created us all. Christians, Muslims and pagans. In Nasarawa State, there are different tribes; there are different religions as well. We have Muslims, we have Christians, and we are all here in Nasarawa State living together as one,โ he said.
Osu recalled instances from past gubernatorial tenures where collaboration between both religions led to significant progress in the state.
โI want to admonish people of Nasarawa State not to be scared or perturbed by his (Adon Garin Lafia) words or that of anyone trying to incite unrest in the state. We want peace in the state,โ Osu said
โI implore the law enforcement agencies in the land to take decisive decisions on those that would incite unrest in the society, where PDP, APGA, APC or SDP, because we want peace.
โThe Ombugadu that we know and have seen, does not differentiate tribe nor religion. With him, I assure you that there will be massive changes in the state that have never been seen.โ
