Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi has said the planned aptitude test for the employment of 3000 teaching staff is to ensure transparency.

Namadi stated this while reacting to J-Teach protesters against scheduled aptitude tests to make them permanent.

DAILY POST reported that the Jigawa State House of Assembly approved the absorption of 3000 J-Teach staff out of the 4,500 recruited.

The Jigawa State government introduced the J-Teach program (temporary teachers) to bridge the existing teacher gap in the state.

According to the Governor, โ€œthe absorption of J- teach to permanent teachers is designed to be done in phases, and in the first Phase we want to absorb 3,000.

โ€œThis is to ensure justice for all; instead of making a random selection, we organized this aptitude test for selecting the best 3,000 out of the 4,500 and those who did not scale through will continue to work as J-Teach before the next round of recruitment.

โ€œThis aptitude test is necessary to ensure that only qualified candidates are recruited.

โ€œWe also have other plans for those who didnโ€™t pass the test, including vocational training and empowerment.โ€

He assured that no single candidate would be recruited outside the 4500 J-Teach staff.

Governor Namadi noted that the new date for the aptitude test would be announced.
