The Nigeria Immigration Service has reversed the posting of some of its personnel to Nigerian embassies abroad as immigration attaches.
The Service disclosed this in a letter signed by GC Didel, an Assistant Comptroller General in charge of Human Resources Management, on Tuesday.
The development came months after some immigration officers were posted to different Nigerian embassies in Europe, the United States, Asia, and Africa on January 8, 2024.
However, according to a recent update on the issue, all the โimmigration attachesโ were mandated to cancel their plan to resume at the foreign posting.
Rather, they were directed to return to their original posting immediately.
โKindly refer to the above subject matter via letter NIS/CGI/FD/175/II dated January 8, 2024.
โI am directed to request all officers affected to return their original posting orders to enable the Service to affect certain procedural and administrative issues.
โThe letters should be returned to the SA-CGIS (Foreign Desk) on or before Thursday, March 9, 2024,โ the statement read.
โYou are to ensure strict compliance, please,โ it added.
