Nine commercial motorcyclists, known as โ€œYan Achaba,โ€ who were travelling from Kirfi Local Government Area of Bauchi State to Lafia in Nasarawa, have reportedly gone missing in Plateau State.

According to reports, the youths were en route to Lafia for bike business before losing contact with family and friends on Saturday.

The caretaker chairman of Kirfi LGA, Alhaji Abdulkadir Umar Dewu, confirmed their disappearance to journalists in Bauchi on Tuesday.

He stated that there had been no communication with the missing persons for three days, adding that efforts are underway to locate their whereabouts.

Also speaking to journalists, parents of the missing youths expressed concern, urging authorities to assist in bringing their children back home.

Recounting the disappearance of their loved ones, some of the parents stated in an interview with journalists that their children were stopped by security operatives on their way to Jos due to a rerun election held that Saturday.

The parents, identified as Abdulhamidu Mohammed, Unguwar Gawo Kirfi, Suleiman Salihu Unguwar Gawo, and Kuma Mallam Rufai Ibrahim, said they were subsequently instructed to stay overnight at Jagabโ€™s filling station before continuing their trip.

However, communication with them ceased at 6 pm, and their phones remained unreachable for three days.

The parents said they have reported to the security agencies and the relevant authorities, even as they continue to pray to Allah to help them find their missing loved ones.
