The head coach of Nigeriaโ€™s Falconets, Christopher Danjuma, is anticipating an improved performance from his team when they face off against Germany in the 2024 FIFA Under-20 Womenโ€™s World Cup.

Following Falconetsโ€™ narrow 1-0 victory over Korea Republic in their opening match, Danjuma expressed confidence in his playersโ€™ ability to elevate their game against Germany.

โ€œWe performed well in the first match against Korea Republic, but I have no doubt that we will deliver an even stronger performance,โ€ Danjuma said in an interview with FIFA.com.

Note that the upcoming game will mark the fifth meeting between Nigeria and Germany at this level of womenโ€™s football. Interestingly, the Falconets have yet to secure a win against the former champions, with Germany emerging victorious in their last two meetings, 2010 and 2014.

Meanwhile, Germanyโ€™s coach, Kathrin Peter, is bracing for a challenging encounter against Nigeriaโ€™s Falconets.

As the former champions prepare to face Danjumaโ€™s side in their second group game at the Estadio El Techo, Bogota, Peter acknowledged the strength of the Nigerian team, especially following their hard-fought 1-0 win against Korea Republic.

โ€œWe anticipate a completely different game compared to our first match. Nigeria is known for being very athletic and physically strong,โ€ Peter shared with FIFA.com. โ€œAfter analyzing their match against the Korean Republic, we will prepare accordingly and expect another compelling game.โ€

Note that the Falconets of Nigeria vs Germany Under-20 team clash will kick off at 11:00 PM (WAT) later tonight, September 4.
