Former special assistant to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari on digital communications, Bashir Ahmad, has reacted to the recent hike in the price of petrol under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
OsunDailyNG reported earlier that the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as fuel or petrol, went up on Tuesday morning from N537/litre to N617/litre.
Several Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) filling stations across the country adjusted their pump prices this morning to the new price while other stations shut down.
The development caused panic buying across mega cities as Nigerians joined long queues to buy the expensive product while other stations were closed down.
Reacting, Ahmad, in a series of posts on his Facebook page, urged Nigerians to return to God in prayer in this time of hardship.
He admonished Nigerians not to be too bothered about hikes in the price of commodities but should be more focused on praying to Allah to provide them with enough money to buy all they needed.
“No doubt the recent hike in the price of petrol will birth hardship for the citizens, we can only hope and pray to Allah to bring succour and also let the situation favour Nigerians and the country at large,” Ahmad wrote on his Facebook page.
