Nigeria International, Zaidu Sanusi has hailed his team’s impressive performance against Bundesliga Side, Bayer Leverkusen.
The Portuguese side lost their first two games against Belgian side, Club Brugge and Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid.
However, Sergio Conceicao’s team recovered from the poor start, defeating Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 on Tuesday night at the Estadio Do Dragao.
Sanusi came off the bench in the 63rd minute to replace Brazil defender Wendell. Six minutes later, the left-back gave Porto the lead. Three minutes from time, another substitute, Gelano, scored the second goal.
“This victory is very important for us and our path,” said the Nigerian defender after the game.
Mane Nets First Champions League Goal For Bayern
Meanwhile, Naija News earlier reported that African best player, Sadio Mane, scored his first Champions League goal for his new club, Bayern Munich, on Tuesday.
Mane, who recently joined the Bundesliga giant, was in the starting line-up started against Victoria Plzen at the Alianz Arena.
Mane scored a beautiful solo goal in the 21st minute after receiving the ball from a throw-in and outpacing two opponents with a flick over his head before breaking through with incredible speed and producing a calm finish in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
