The PUNCH: Oil workers have demanded results as President Bola Tinubu assigned the Petroleum Ministry portfolio to himself. Like his predecessor, the President will head the petroleum ministry while a former Senator, Heineken Lokpobiri, is the Minister of State, Petroleum Resources.


The Guardian: The resurgence of brutal killings in the North Central geo-political zone, which increased since May 2023, claiming over 1200 lives within three months, has become a major threat to the N28 trillion Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the six states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).


ThisDay: The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) yesterday announced that it had secured a $3 billion emergency loan from the African Export-Import Bank to stabilise the country’s volatile foreign exchange market.


The Nation: Ahead of Monday’s inauguration of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Presidency last night released portfolios of the 45 ministers-designate cleared by the Senate.


Daily Trust: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assigned portfolios to 45 ministers confirmed penultimate Monday by the Senate. The list of portfolios announced by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, showed the split of some ministries and the creation of new ones.
