Niger Tornadoes Chairman Ibrahim Dada has compensated his players with N500,000 for their victory against Rivers United.
Dada said the gesture is to boost the players’ morale ahead of subsequent matches in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The chairman was among hundreds of spectators at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna, during the impressive 1-0 win against the former NPFL champions.
“This token is for you all for the impressive dedication for the victory against Rivers United,” he told the club’s media.
“Managing this team is a service to my state, and I would do anything to succeed, Insha Allah.
“Many people don’t believe in your capabilities, but the management and the coaches do. It is your job to prove the naysayers wrong.”
