Residents of Rivers State on Saturday ignored the political crisis in the state and came out en mass to vote for leaders at the grassroots level.
OsunDailyNG reported that despite the controversy in the election, the Action Peoples Party(APP) emerged victorious, sweeping 22 of the 23 LGAs.
The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), RSIEC chairman, Justice Adolphus Enebeli, announced the election results in Port Harcourt.
He mentioned that the declaration of results for Etche Local Government Area has been put on hold due to the continuous process of tallying the votes.
