The National University Commission (NUC) in Abuja is currently issuing operating licenses to 37 new private universities, including Azman University in Kano State, and El-Amin University in Minna, Niger State.
El-Amin University is backed by El-Amin Nigeria Limited, with retired General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida as the Chairman of Trustees.
On the other hand, Azman University has the support of Azman Group of Companies Limited, with Barr. Ado Muhammad Ma’aji as the Chairman of its Board of Trustees.
Azman, a long-standing player in the oil industry, recently established an airline and has now broadened its horizons by entering the education sector.
