The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu, has called on the state governor, Abdullahi Sule to perish the thoughts of appealing the ruling of the election petition tribunal.

Ombugadu said his victory is beyond reproach, hence Sule should perish the thought of an appeal.

The Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal on Tuesday declared Ombugadu winner of the last governorship election in the state.

The tribunal also ordered the withdrawal of Suleโ€™s Certificate of Return, adding that it should be given to Ombugadu as the duly elected governor of the state.

Reacting, Ombugadu extended his heartfelt gratitude to the judiciary and the people of the state for the resounding victory achieved at the tribunal.

Speaking through the Director of Media and Publicity of his campaign organization, Mike Omeri, Ombugadu assured that the PDP remains committed to the principles of good governance, inclusivity, and service to the people of Nasarawa State.

He said: โ€œWhat the people of Nasarawa State have demonstrated will further strengthen our democracy and the importance of upholding the principles of justice and accountability in our electoral process.

โ€œWe hail the tribunal for its diligent and impartial consideration of the evidence presented, leading to this historic and landmark decision.

โ€œToday, we celebrate not only a legal victory but also a triumph for the democratic aspirations of the people of Nasarawa State.

โ€œWe wish to express our profound appreciation to the teeming supporters and well-wishers of Dr. David Ombugadu who stood by him with unwavering loyalty and determination. Your faith in the democratic process and your commitment to our cause have been the driving force behind this victory,โ€ Omeri said.

โ€œAs we move forward, we remain committed to the principles of good governance, inclusivity, and service to the people of Nasarawa State.

โ€œWhile we recognize the right of Alhaji Abdullahi Sule to appeal this judgment, we urge him to perish the thought as the electoral mandate handed over to Dr. Ombugadu by the people of Nasarawa State is beyond reproach.

โ€œWe extend a hand of friendship to all our political opponents to join us and recover Nasarawa State from the brink in order to discover a pathway for peace, security, and sustainable development of the state.โ€
