After an extended blackout lasting over a month, the Tudun Wada community in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has appealed to their elected representatives in government to come to their aid.
The cause of this power outage has been attributed to the breakdown of a vital transformer in the area.
The unfortunate situation has paralysed commercial activities and significantly impacted the daily lives of Tudun Wada residents, particularly those who rely on artisanal and trading activities for their livelihoods.
A concerned citizen, Salisu Shuaibu, brought attention to the circumstances faced by the community.
Speaking with DAILY POST, he emphasised that the blackout has not only disrupted economic activities but has also created immense challenges for the predominantly artisan and trader population of Tudun Wada.
He appealed to elected representatives, including Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada and Representative Gbefwi Jonathan Gaza, at both state and national levels.
Shuaibu, highlighting the essential role electricity plays in the day-to-day lives of the residents, urged the officials to prioritise and expedite the resolution of this critical issue, stating that the community is seeking an immediate intervention to address the malfunctioning transformer and restore regular power supply to Tudun Wada.
