The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has vowed to shut down private schools lacking qualified teachers and proper facilities.
The chairman of the House Committee on Education, Danladi Jatau, who made this revelation in a statement made available to DAILY POST, said the move is aimed at ensuring that private schools within the state meet established educational standards.
Jatau stressed the importance of adhering to due process and maintaining high educational standards, stating that the committee will visit private schools across the state in the course of the assignment.
He insisted that the committee is determined to promote and uphold quality education in the state, adding that no society can achieve significant progress without a strong foundation of sound education.
“This committee will visit private schools across the state and will not give room to anybody to establish school without following due process.
“How can one establish a school/schools without facilities and qualified teachers? We will order for the closure of any private school or schools without standard.
“This committee will ensure that quality education is provided in the state as no society will achieve meaningful progress without sound education,” Jatau said.
