Victor Osimhenโs Napoli are only one win away from winning their third-ever and first Italian Serie A title in 33 years following a late 1-0 win over Juventus in a very tensed encounter in Turin on Sunday evening.
It was a tough game between the two big names at the Juventus Stadium with the first half ending goalless. The cagy affair continued until the cusp of the second half when Angel Di Maria scored from a counterattacking play in the 82nd minute.
However, the goal was ruled out following a VAR review โ Stanislav Lobotka was fouled in the build up to the goal. They managed to score again few minutes later but the it was ruled out again because the ball had crossed the line for a goal kick when Federico Chiesa made the cross.
Meanwhile, a stoppage time goal by an unlikely hero, Giacomo Raspadori, who volleyed Eljif Elmasโ chipped cross past Wojciech Szczesny secured the last minute victory for the Gli Azzurri, putting Napoli just on the brink of first league title in more than three decades.
Napoli, who are on 78 points, last won the Serie A title in the 1989/90 season which was inspired by the clubโs late legend and football great Diego Maradona but a win in their next game against Salernitana April 29 will see them crowned champions once again with six matches to spare.
But this permutation heavily rely on the outcome of game between second-placed Lazio, who are 61 points, going in Napoliโs favour โ a draw or lose away at Inter next weekend, will see free-scoring Osimhen, who is the league top scorer(21 goals) , and his Napoli side clinch the Scudetto.
