An Islamic scholar in Lagos, Sheikh Abeebullah Adam Al-Ilory, has reacted after seeing a charm placed on his part at the mosque.
While narrating his experience to the Muslim ummahs during a Ramadan lecture, the Rector of the Markaz Arabic and Islamic Training Centre, located in the Agege area of Lagos, cursed the individuals involved in placing the alleged charm on his path to the central mosque.
OsunDaily News learnt that the cleric had suffered a near-death experience in February 2022 when he fell ill and was hospitalized.
Though he has recovered, Sheik Adam, while speaking at a Ramadhan Tafseer at the institution during the weekend, said while other scholars deliver sermons on weekdays during the 2023 fasting month, he would only be able to lecture the audience on weekends.
The successor of the grand sheikh Adam Al Ilory, had earlier shed tears while reminiscing on his late father and also expressed displeasure at the evil machinations of some unknown individuals who attacked him.
He said: โOn Monday, my path to the mosque was laced with โakadiโ (an evil charm). It was placed at the entrance. This is the reason why I said we would curse some people. We have just started this, and we will continue henceforth. Students are to read Suratul Tawbah, and teachers too. Whosoever did that in this premises, may God fight him.โ
The cleric said he was not used to or known for engaging in fetish acts because his father only bequeathed to him โprayers for protectionโ.ย He, therefore, cursed the plotters of the evil act by beseeching on Allah to fight the perpetrators while also calling on the listeners to join in cursing them.
โYou canโt escape from God, what is that difficult? Is it not this life? If we say we leave the perpetrator to God, we are merely โฆOnly God doesnโt pursue one before catching up on one. For the sake of this Ramadan, for the sake of this month, all of them wonโt scale through because I did not contest this position with anyone. May God consider this fact, may all the curses Iโve placed on him come to past,โย Sheikh Adam said.
