The video showing the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jubril, and other principal officers arriving at the Senate Chamber for plenary has surfaced online.
OsunDailyNG understands that the Senate is set to continue with the screening of ministerial nominees forwarded by President Bola Tinubu and also deliberate on the letter by the president to seek military intervention in Niger Republic.
Some of the 19 nominees lined up for screening include the former Governor of Osun, Kebbi and Zamafra State; Gboyega Oyetola, Atiku Bagudu and Bello Matawalle, respectively.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu is seeking support for Nigeria’s military intervention in Niger.
In the letter read at plenary by the Senate president, Godswill Akpabio, the president demanded a total blockade of the sea and air routes to the country following the military coup.
Recall the military overthrew the democratically elected government in Niger Republic a few weeks ago and seized assets of all politically exposed and senior persons of the government of Niger in the country based on the ECOWAS resolution.
