Amid the ravaging economic crisis rocking the nation, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris has urged Nigerians to be patient with the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government.
The Minister made the call on Tuesday in Abuja while inaugurating the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, NIPR.
Idris assured Nigerians that the current administration was committed to ensuring that the nation grows greater and better for all citizens.
According to him, the current economic situation โis a temporary painโ, which he said would eventually lead to sustainable gains and development.
โTo all Nigerians, may I use this medium to assure that the Federal Government is strongly committed to ensuring a greater and better Nigeria for all citizens.
โLet us support leadership across the board and promote the nationโs core values of patriotism, integrity, hard work, love, unity, professionalism, culture of excellence, among othersโ, he said.
The Minister urged the newly inaugurated NIPR board to use the platform to promote the good image of the country, saying โreputation deficitโ remains a major challenge in the country.
โReputation is one of the key pillars in nation building and plays strategic roles in the development of any nation.
โPart of the challenges of our nation today is what could be termed โreputation deficitโ caused by wrong perception of Nigeria at the global arenaโ, he added.
