Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi reportedly wants Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric to join him at the MLS club next season.
This claim was made by former Real Madrid star Predrag Mijatovic.
Recall that Messi joined Inter Miami as a free agent in the summer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired.
The Argentine has hit the ground running, scoring 11 goals and registering five assists in 12 games across three competitions for Inter Miami.
“He has received offers from the MLS, from many teams and from Inter Miami in particular,” Mijatovic told le SER (via MD).
“Lionel Messi himself has personally been interested in the possibility (of Modric joining).”
Modric is in the final year of his contract at Los Real Madrid.
The 38-year-old joined Real Madrid from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.
