Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is focused on enhancing his attacking options during the January transfer window as the Premier League champions are nearing a deal with Frankfurt for forward Omar Marmoush.
According to Mail Sport, Marmoush is enthusiastic about the prospect of joining City in the January transfer window.
Although Frankfurt is hesitant to part with the 25-year-old, especially during the winter transfer window, his impressive formโscoring 18 goals in 24 appearances this seasonโmakes him a valuable asset that may be difficult to retain.
While Liverpool and Arsenal have expressed interest in Marmoush, they have not pursued the matter further. City are prepared to invest ยฃ50 million in a versatile player capable of excelling in various attacking roles.
Guardiola aims to secure two or three additions in the January transfer window to invigorate his squad and foster greater competition. Although Frankfurt denied any formal approach from Manchester City regarding Marmoush last week, it is understood that informal discussions are ongoing, with both clubs expected to reach an agreement soon.
