Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire has accepted an apology from the Ghana MP, Isaac Adongo who mocked him in parliament last year.
Recall that Adongo had aimed a bizarre swipe at Maguire during a speech discrediting his political rivalโs economic policies during a parliamentary session last year.
He compared the England international to Ghanaโs vice-president Mahamudu Bawumia who he accused of scoring political โown goals.โ
His comments came while Maguire was enduring a difficult spell at Man United, having lost his place in the team under Erik ten Hag.
But speaking on Tuesday, Adongo said sorry to Maguire for those comments, describing the centre-back as a โtransformational footballerโ.
However, Maguire has now accepted his apology.
Responding to a clip of Adongoโs latest comments, the former Leicester City star wrote on Twitter on Wednesday: โMP Issac Adongo apology accepted . See you at Old Trafford soon.โ
