Taiwo Kayode Alli, 75, and his son, Hamid Alli, have filed a fundamental rights suit against the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and four others in a Lagos Federal High Court, alleging intimidation, molestation, and invasion of their home by the agency.

The applicants, through their lawyer, Eyitayo Abiodun, are asking the court for an order prohibiting the defendants from detaining, intimidating, or abusing the applicants, either directly or through their agent, servant, or privy, pending the outcome of the case.

Respondents in the lawsuit include the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA; Adetula Oluwarotimi Lawal (NDLEA Bariga Outpost); and Adekunle Edward, NDLEA Personnel.

The applicant made the prayers in FHC/L/CS/2017/23, a Fundamental Rights Enforcement case before Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa.

Specifically, the applicants seek an interim order preventing the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th respondents from detaining, intimidating, or abusing them, either directly or through their agent, servant, or privy, pending the outcome of the case.

Kayode Alli (1st applicant) stated in a 16-paragraph affidavit that on June 6, 2023, his son (2nd applicant) drove his friend who had returned from the United States of America to the airport to catch her flight, and upon returning home at about 5.30 a.m., he discovered that the gate of his fatherโ€™s house where he resides had been thrown open after the lock had been broken.
