The 6th of May, 2023 has been fixed for the coronation of Britain’s King Charles III.
According to Buckingham Palace, the ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey.
The Queen Consort, Camilla, will also be crowned in the ceremony.
The Royal Family in a statement released on Tuesday and titled, ‘The Coronation of His Majesty The King’ wrote, “Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023.
“The Coronation Ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
“The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort.
“The Coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.
“Further details will be announced in due course.”
UK’s Royal Mint Reveals Coin Portrait Of King Charles III
The official effigy of King Charles III that will appear on coins after taking over from Queen Elizabeth II was unveiled on Friday by Britain’s Royal Mint.
The new king personally approved the effigy which is the work of British sculptor Martin Jennings.
The first coins bearing the king’s portrait will be a special £5 coin and a 50 pence coin commemorating the life of Queen Elizabeth II.
According to Jennings, his portrait was sculpted from a photograph of Charles.
