Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has assured residents that the Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital would resume work in a fortnight.
The facility was one of the recovered public structures allocated to individuals by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
This is contained in a statement by his acting press secretary, Hisham Habib, in Kano on Sunday.
Mr Yusuf spoke while receiving the Emir of Gaya, Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who paid him a Sallah homage.
He directed the Commissioner for Health, Abubakar Labaran, to work round the clock to ensure the smooth restoration of the health centre.
The governor assured that the present administration would continue to prioritise healthcare services to ensure smooth policy delivery across the state.
While expressing concern over the sanitary situation in the state, he reiterated the NNPP-led administrationโs commitment to refuse evacuation and management.
Mr Yusuf said his administration was not pursuing any vendetta but working towards the stateโs progress.
He challenged critics to keep records of his work and judge him after his tenure, questioning why anyone in power could take public property and convert it for personal use.
Last month, the governor nullified the sale of the facility, saying, โRevoking the sale of Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital is a crucial step towards achieving our healthcare goals.โ
Meanwhile, the former commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs in Mr Gandujeโs administration, Muhammad Garba, in a statement, denied that the facility was sold out.
โFrom available records, up to the 29th of May this year, the facility was not sold to any individual or organisation, and it remains the property of the government of Kano state.โ
