The United States has condemned the abduction of school children in Kaduna State.
OsunDailyNG reports that an estimated 200 internally displaced persons, IDPs, consisting mostly of women, boys and girls, were kidnapped by suspected terrorists while out in the woods to fetch firewood in Gomboru-Ngala and Dikwa council areas of Borno State.
The US Mission in Nigeria on its official X page urged the Nigerian government to arrest the perpetrators and make sure they face the consequences.
โThe United States strongly condemns the kidnapping of schoolchildren in Kaduna and displaced persons in Borno.
โOur hearts go out to the victimsโ families. We stand with you in demanding the perpetrators face justice and the immediate, safe return of all taken.
โWe support Nigeriaโs efforts to secure their release,โ it said.
