Juventus and UEFA allegedly came to an agreement that the club would not take part in any European competitions in the coming 2023-2024 season.
Based on this agreement, the Italian Serie A giants wonโt participate in the 2023-2024 Europa Conference League which they have qualified for.
Recall that in the just concluded 2022-2023 season, Juventus found themselves soaked in financial fair play allegations which forced the entire board of the club to resign.
Also, UEFA deducted 15 points from the club due to the allegations but the UEFAโs ruling was overturned when the club filed an appeal.
However, a superior court in Italy found them guilty of the allegations but reduced their punishment to 10 points deduction.
Despite the punishment, Juventus still managed to finish in the 7th spot, a position that qualified them for next seasonโs Europa Conference League campaign.
After the whole saga, Juventus decided to focus on only domestic football next season as they have decided to withdraw from European club football for one season according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The report claimed that Juventusโ decision not to participate in UEFAโs third-tier club football was not connected to their financial fair play scandal.
Next season, Juventus would focus on rebuilding the team, contending for the Serie A, and ultimately qualifying for the UEFA Champions League which is said to be the major goal of the club.
