Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has passed the 2024 appropriation bill into law.
The Governor signed the budget into law a week after the state House of Assembly passed the budget after their scrutiny.
Governor Umar Namadi presented the sum of N298.14 billion before the state House of Assembly.
The Budget which was tagged โBudget for a Greater Jigawaโ is almost 23 per cent higher than the total appropriation in the 2023 fiscal year.
Speaking after signing the 2024 Appropriation Bill, Governor Umar Namadi commended the efforts of the legislators for the quick passage of the bill.
โToday is an important day for us on our journey for greater Jigawa State, signing of our first appropriation bill into law which was scrutinized and checked by the state House of Assemblyโ
โI want to use this opportunity to thank state state House of Assembly for their speedy passageโ
โI have come to learn the kind of scrutiny the MDAโs have gone through which they have never gone through in their lives that shows the members have done what is right for the appropriation billโ
โI am also urging you to continue with their constitutional responsibilities and when it comes to implementation of this budget I want you to also undertake your oversight functions to ensure that this budget is implementedโ

He, however, assured of the full implementation of the budget for the development of the state.
