The Lagos State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 election, Abulazeez Olajide Adeniran better known as Jandor has expressed optimism that the state election petition tribunal would rule in his favour on Monday.

He told Lagosians and supporters in a statement on Sunday that he doesnโ€™t share the opinion of some people that election petition tribunals in Nigeria rarely do justice.

According to Adeniran, he and the PDP believe in the judiciary process.

He told his supporters to be aware that regardless of the outcome of the tribunal however, there are still two higher courts to explore before the final decision is taken on the outcome of the 2023 governorship election in Lagos.

Telling his supporters it is not over until it is over, Jandor in the personally signed statement on Sunday told them to expect a breath of fresh air in Lagos as all hope is not lost.

According to Jandor, he is aware that expectations are high and he hopes the tribunal will do justice.

His statement reads: โ€œTomorrow, the 25th day of September 2023, the court of first instance on the Lagos State 2023 Governorship election (Tribunal) will deliver Judgement on the petitions before it.

โ€œJust like I put it here, itโ€™s the court of first instance, which means that whichever way tomorrowโ€™s Judgement swings, there are two more steps to go before the process of the 2023 Governorship election in Lagos State is brought to a close.

โ€œI am aware that expectations are high, especially on issues bothering on the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended and the Electoral Act, as well as precedents.

โ€œFor me and my political party, the PDP, our resolve to embrace judicial process is to strengthen our democratic process, so as to ensure the best of us are entrusted the positions to serve the rest of us.

โ€œAs I refuse to share from the opinion of many, that court of first instance in election petition (Tribunal) rarely do justice, I sincerely hope for thorough and unambiguous interpretations of all grounds of every petition tomorrow in line with the provisions of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Electoral Act. 2022.

โ€œTo every Lagosian who keeps yarning for a breath of fresh air in the State of Lagos, I say all hope is not lost.

โ€œI thank you all for staying true to this course, but tomorrow wouldnโ€™t be the end of the 2023 electioneering process.

โ€œItโ€™s not over until itโ€™s finally overโ€ฆโ€
