Manchester United winger, Jadon Sancho is not having the best moment of his football career as he deactivated his Instagram page earlier today, September 26.
The 23-year-old England international decided to deactivate his Instagram account hours after it was reported that Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag had banned him from gaining access to first-team facilities at the club, including the dining room.
It was also reported that the Dutchman has given the Englishman a to-do list he must accomplish before he can return to the first team squad.
Recall that since early this month, there has been a kind of cold war between coach Erik Ten Hag and Jadon Sancho. The Cold War started ahead of the Arsenal vs. Manchester United game at the Emirates Stadium on September 3.
Ahead of the game which ended 3-1 in favour of Arsenal, the press asked the Dutch tactician why Jadon Sancho didn’t make his matchday squad, and the coach responded that he decided to drop the England international because he was not impressed with him during training.
The comment didn’t go down well with Sancho and had to go on Instagram to write that Erik ten Hag is just using him as a “scapegoat”.
After the comment, he was dropped from the team again and had to have a meeting with some members of the club’s hierarchy. At the end of the meeting, Jadon Sancho was asked to apologize to Ten Hag but the Englishman refused to do so, hence, he was kept out of the squad.
Erik ten Hag has publicly said Sancho won’t play for United until further notice and that it is left to the player to decide whether to leave the club in January or not.
Recall that Jadon Sancho joined Manchester United from German Bundesliga club, Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee worth €85 million on July 23, 2021.
Since then, he has managed to play 82 times in which he scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists in all competitions. So far in the 2023-2024 season, the English winger has managed to play only three times in all competitions.
Sancho’s contract with Manchester United is expected to expire on June 30, 2026.
