Iranian police force
The Islamic Republic of Iran says businesses and shops of women who refuse to abide by its mandatory use of hijab veils are being shut down.
The police are also going after women to enforce the rule.
Ali Akbar Javidan, the police commander of Kermanshah Province, said the Public Placesโ Supervision Department, in cooperation with โother responsible agencies, has begun the implementation of the chastity and hijab plan,โ Iran local media report.ย
Mr Javidan said over 40 businesses and shops were closed for shunning the instructions and abiding by the mandatory hijab rule.
Recently, the government warned that new technology will be adopted and surveillance cameras will be used to track down women not wearing hijabs in public places
