The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has claimed that it was cheated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, during the 2023 general elections.
The party stated this on Monday while reacting to the verdict of the Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which sacked the incumbent governor.
DAILY POST earlier reported that the tribunal nullified the victory of Governor Abdullahi Sule in the March 18 polls.
The three-man panel led by Justice Ezekiel Ajayi, which delivered the judgment via zoom, declared Emmanuel Ombudagu of the PDP winner of the election.
Reacting, PDP in a post on its official X handle, alleged that the partyโs mandates were stolen at both the federal and state levels during the general elections.
The party congratulated Ombudagu, saying his victory was the will of the people of Nasarawa State.
The post reads, โThe Governorship Candidate of our great party, the @OfficialPDPNig, @davidombugadu23, has been declared as the winner of the March 18, 2023 Gubernatorial Election in Nasarawa State by the Election Petition Tribunal.
โThis victory and the jubilations that greeted the declaration by the people of the state is a testament that the PDP and its Candidate were cheated by the electoral umpire and the ruling @OfficialAPCNg.
โThe PDP will continue to reclaim its stolen mandates at the national level and in all the states of the federation. Once again, congratulations to @davidombugadu23 and the entire PDP family nationwideโ.
