In a recent address to the State Executive Council, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to providing good governance, stating, โ€œI wonโ€™t be distracted from the continuous delivery of good governance to the Osun people.โ€ The Governor’s remarks come amidst ongoing challenges faced by his administration, which he described as a “vicious, anti-democratic campaign” aimed at undermining his leadership.

During the meeting held at the Osun State Secretariat, Governor Adeleke reflected on the turbulent events of the past month, highlighting efforts by detractors to sow discord within his administration. โ€œOsun was under siege in a manner nobody ever envisaged,” he remarked, expressing gratitude for the support received from the public in overcoming these adversities.

In a significant move to bolster the state’s educational system, Governor Adeleke directed immediate action on the letters of appointment for newly recruited teachers. This directive is aimed at enhancing the educational framework by integrating qualified educators into schools across the state, thus improving student outcomes.

The Governor also reported on the recent successful local government elections, noting that a democratically elected administration has been sworn in, and he commended the efforts to remove illegal occupants from local government positions. โ€œWith divine wisdom and the support of our people, we retain and even consolidate our hold on the state,โ€ he emphasized.

Furthermore, Governor Adeleke informed his council members that steps are being taken to hold former officials accountable for various infractions and corrupt practices that marred the previous administration. He urged his cabinet to maintain vigilance and adhere to due process in all matters, reinforcing the governmentโ€™s focus on moving forward rather than succumbing to distractions.

In concluding his remarks, Governor Adeleke announced plans to present a 2025 infrastructure project implementation plan, which will include timelines for various projects. He expressed confidence in his administration’s ability to deliver on its five-point agenda, stating, โ€œWe have the upper hand, and we must forge ahead without any weakness.โ€

The meeting encapsulated Governor Adeleke’s steadfast determination to lead Osun State towards a path of progress and developmental success, despite external challenges.
