Senate President Godswll Akpabio has swiftly rejected the assertion that he was part of the Saraki Senate.
Addressing the Senate on the incessant security challenges across the country, the Senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, reminded the Senate President that he was part of the Saraki Senate.
According to Ndume, โOur security [agencies] have the capability. All they need is training, equipment, motivation. Thatโs what they need. But we can do it.
โNow the President [Akpabio], he headed, when he was the Senate leader, he headed three committees and made far-reaching decisions. You were part of the Saraki Senate as a Minority Leaderโฆโ
Cutting in, Akpabio said, โI was a part of Nigerian Senate, not Sarakiโs Senate. If you said I was part of Sarakiโs Senate, it means I was part of those who paid 40% on Constituency project and 60% was not being paid till today, I donโt want to be part of that.โ
Senator Bukola Saraki was the Senate President in the first term of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
