Famous singer Stanley Omah Didia, aka Omah Lay, has revealed that he contemplated converting to Islam at some point despite being born into a Christian home.
He said right now, he doesnโt care about religion anymore.
He, however, said he believes in the existence of God.
Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Wunmi Bello, Omah Lay said, โAs soon as I made money, I just switched; I just believed in God and became more human than religious. I donโt just enjoy religion anymore.
โI grew up in a Christian home. I spent a lot of time in church. And at some point, I was going to convert to Islam. But now Iโm at the point where itโs just me and God. Not religion. Because I really donโt know anything about religion. Thatโs the problem. These holy books and what everybody is saying, I know it sounds true but these are just books that I can not find evidence that this was written by God or his servants.
โSo, I just feel like I donโt know anything in as much as I know the bible, Jesus and Allah. But at the end, I donโt have evidence. The only evidence I have is that thereโs a God who is moving me. I know that there must be something thatโs somewhere thatโs in charge of this whole thing. I believe itโs God.โ
