A former governor of Ebonyi State and Minister of Works, David Umahi has emphasized that he has no regrets for making Governor Francis Nwifuru his successor.
Umahi made this known while addressing stakeholders at a dinner organized by Nwifuru in honour of former executive council members of the state, which took place at the old Government House, Abakaliki.
Umahi noted that he โswept the Government House very well and did not forget anythingโ before leaving the office five months ago.
He said he made many enemies in the cause of doing his job as a governor of the state, and in the struggle to install Nwifuru as his successor in the 2023 general election.
He vowed that no National Assembly member from the state will fight Nwifuru, and threatened that anyone that tries it will go on suspension.
Umahi further noted that it is his time to reap where he sowed, and urged the governor to beware of some people.
โWe will know those who are APC during the coming election,โ he added.
Responding, Nwifuru applauded Umahi for his contributions towards the building of a modern Ebonyi State.
He stressed that nobody can come in between him and the former governor.
โOur enemies must go to work, but the devil is a liar,โ Nwifuru noted.
