Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has denied giving Human Right Lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) or his son, Falz, any money for a presidential pardon.
OsunDailyNG reports that this comes after Falana and his son gave Bobrisky 12 hours to apologize for the claims he reportedly made in a viral audio clip VDM released last month.
Recall that Bobrisky, in an audio shared online, claimed that Falana and his son Falz contacted him while he was serving a six-month sentence for naira abuse.
In the recording, Bobrisky alleged that Falz and his father “tried to get me a presidential pardon in exchange for N10 million.”
However, in a letter dated 14 October 2024, issued by Falana’s legal representatives, Olorunfemi Akinyemi and Taiwo E. Olawanle, Bobrisky was accused of making false and defamatory statements about Falana and his son’s involvement in the alleged bribery and pardon.
The legal team described Bobrisky’s claims as unfounded and damaging to Falana’s reputation.
Falanas’ legal team demanded a full retraction of the claim and an apology, which should be prominently published on all platforms where the statements were disseminated.
They added that if Bobrisky fails to comply within 12 hours of receiving the letter, Falana will pursue legal action, including claims for monetary damages.
In response, Bobrisky, in a post via his Instagram page, denied giving the Falanas money for pardon, stressing that VDM, who published the audio online, should take full responsibility for what he posted in public.
He insists he is not the person in the viral audio clip and did not publish any defamatory statement concerning Falana or Falz.
